Enriching Community Connection: Brisbane Rockclimbing Club

One of the standout contributions I’ve made within the Brisbane Rockclimbing Club is establishing a monthly newsletter to foster a sense of unity and belonging among our members. This initiative not only keeps everyone informed about the latest updates, events, and noteworthy achievements within the club but also serves as a platform to inspire a strong community ethos.

Brisbane Rockclimbing Club - since 1965

Established in 1965, the Brisbane Rockclimbing Club stands as a venerable institution, fostering a thriving community for rock climbing enthusiasts throughout South East QLD. More than just a social club, it serves as a vibrant forum where seasoned climbers converge to share their experiences, expertise, and passion for the sport.

The club provides a platform for local climbers to connect, forming lasting bonds and supporting one another in their climbing endeavors. As a proud member of the Australian Climbing Association Queensland (ACAQ), the club's membership contributions directly fund ACAQ initiatives.

Recognised by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), ACAQ serves as the pinnacle authority for recreational climbing in Queensland strengthening the voice as part of the broader outdoor recreational community in the region. Through direct and associate memberships with major climbing clubs, ACAQ sustain the operations and continue advocating for the climbing community and their relentless dedication extends to legitimising climbers as essential stakeholders in decisions impacting outdoor recreational spaces, ensuring our voices are heard and valued.

I am a passionate explorer with a love for sustainable travel, outdoor adventures, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Growing up travelling across Europe with my family and later embracing the backpacker lifestyle in Australia, I developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and experiences. With a curious spirit and a heart for discovery, I find joy in exploring the world and the great outdoors, whether it's hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, savouring delicious food, or simply enjoying the beauty of each moment. My travels continue to fuel my passion for learning and sharing the stories that bring people and places together.
